Post Office broadband might not have the cheapest deals but they do offer a friendly, functional and straight-forward alternative to the main broadband providers and their complicated pricing plans. They are also unique in offering subscribers the option to pay for their subscription in cash or cheque over-the-counter at any one of the 14,000 Post Office branches nationwide.
So for anyone without a bank account or unable/unwilling to make direct debit payments, Post Office broadband is the best, or rather only, option. What’s more subscribers to broadband packages that include line rental can also benefit from The Post Office’s reduced weekend international call rates!
The Post Office is offering 8mb broadband with UK evening and weekend calls for £26.05. Line rental is included in the price, so you don’t have to worry about dealing with BT separately, and the monthly download limit is uncapped so you don’t have to worry about incurring additional charges.
However, the really unique thing about this package is that it includes free weekend calls to mobiles and free weekend calls to international landlines. Definitely worth considering if you have family living abroad!

Created in 1986 The Post Office is the state owned retail subsidiary of the Royal Mail, offering mainly postal services but also financial services, government services, insurance, home phone line rental and, since 2007, broadband internet. The Post Office remains one of the UK’s most trusted and loved brands, a fact best illustrated by the failed attempt in 2000 to rebrand the service ‘Consignia’.
